Susan Ashbrook, Artistic Explorer and Teacher
Susan began her life as an artist in Grade One, when her artwork was awarded gold stars and exhibited on the classroom bulletin board!
“For me the thrill of creating art is in the process! This is where the realization occurs the and progression of thought, the determination of the medium, the trial and error, the triumph of attainment and the lessons of failure. This is where I grow as an artist.”

Karen Dyrda, Oil and Acrylic Landscapes
“I have always needed to be creative. I am a self taught artist and the process of collecting ideas, composing, and delivering a finished painting gives me great joy. I seek out knowledge through esteemed local artists and attend work shops with them. I gain considerable pleasure in knowing that my paintings have a new home. I believe that learning is a life long endeavour and my approach to art is no different. I strive to expand my capabilities every time I pick up a brush.
I always have a camera ready when exploring outdoors. Before I ever start, I have a clear idea of what the finished painting will be. After I sketch an outline on the canvas, with a limited palette and relaxed brush strokes, I am able to give my paintings a contemporary feel. ”
